Website Data
The Miri website is a product website. We do not intentionally collect personal data through tracking forms on this site. If you contact us by email, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.
Cookies and Analytics
The current website does not use advertising cookies or analytics cookies requiring consent. If analytics or marketing tools are added later, this policy and the cookie controls will be updated before those tools are enabled.
Miri App Privacy
Miri is designed around local-first photo workflows. Photo browsing, highlights, search, and face-related features run on-device. Your original photos and folder paths are never uploaded.
When you activate a Pro license, the app sends only your license key and a hashed device identifier to our licensing service. The identifier is a one-way SHA-256 hash of your Mac's system hardware UUID combined with an app-specific salt — the raw hardware UUID never leaves your device. We use this hash solely to enforce the 2-device activation limit on each Pro license and to revoke compromised tokens. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of our license agreement with you (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
Optional Usage Statistics
Miri can send anonymous usage statistics to help us understand which features matter. This is off by default and only enabled if you explicitly opt in. When enabled, the app sends: a rotating anonymous identifier (regenerated monthly), the app version, your operating system, and aggregate counters such as the number of folders opened and photos analyzed. We never receive file paths, folder names, photo contents, EXIF data, or any other personal information.
You can turn this on or off at any time in Miri Settings → Privacy.
Feedback Submissions
When you send a bug report, review, or feature request through the feedback page or the in-app menu, we collect what you type in the form (title, description, optional email) and the source of the submission (web or desktop). This data is processed on our behalf by Looona, a feedback management platform, under a data processing agreement.
Third-Party Processors
We rely on a small number of providers to operate Miri. Each processes data only on documented instructions:
- Cloudflare — website hosting, edge functions, and KV storage (license and webhook records).
- Dodo Payments — payment processing and license key management when you buy Miri Pro.
- Looona — storage and triage of feedback submitted through the app or website.
Your Rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, objection, or restriction regarding personal data we may hold about you. Contact us at contact@getmiri.app.
